Åsmund Rinnan is an associate professor at the department of food science, the spectroscopy and chemometrics section.
The section is one of the largest chemometrics groups in the world, and as such, are publishing articles with a high impact worldwide.
Primary fields of research
Åsmund is applying and developing chemometric tools to solve real world problems. The current research is focused on:
- Automatization processes for multivariate data analysis
- Sound pre-processing of data
- Variable selection techniques
- Understanding the effect of correlated references on the subsequent model
Teaching
Åsmund Rinnan is responsible for the course Exploratory Data Analysis/ Chemometrics. In addition he gives lectures at several other course.
