    Over the last years I have been focusing on how probiotic bacteria and prebiotics mixed together influence human wellbeing and balance of gastrointestinal microbiota. I also created novel dietary product based on linseed and probiotic bacteria and studied effect of this product on indicatory photogenic bacteria and yeasts. I am a fervent advocate of collaborative research, and been doing both fundamental and applied work.

    Current research

    PhD Project: In-vitro model of the upper gastrointestinal tract

    At the moment there is no high throughput, low volume in vitro models of Gastrointestinal Tract and experiments on currently existing models are time consuming and costly. The aim of this project is to develop a low volume, high throughput small intestine in vitro model that will allow rapid screening of bioactive probiotic/coating combinations, nutrients, xenobiotic, pathogenic microorganisms and their influence on gut microbiota, pH level, short chain fatty acids production and many others parameters.
