Novel Food Day
Deadline for registration: 24 November 2022 at 12.
The purpose of this theme day is to help you learn about EU novel food regulations and how to write a good novel food application.
The food industry and academic food scientists are innovating the world of food and developing new more sustainable foods by e.g., developing tasty and nutritious alternatives to meat, developing new processing methods, or taking advantage of by-products that haven’t been used as foods before.
For these new food products, it must be determined if they are novel foods, and they will often require a risk assessment and EU novel food approval before they can be sold within EU. The purpose of this is to ensure consumer safety.
To ensure a smooth transition from idea to product the novel food regulations should be considered early in the project planning and innovation process. This theme day will aid you in this process by educating you on novel food regulations and the good application.
Target group
The theme day is relevant for scientists whose research may lead to novel food products, companies, consultants, and students who wish to learn more about this important topic in the world of food innovation.
