The appraisal seminar of Mahesha Manjunatha Poojary for the position as Associate Professor in Food Protein Chemistry will be held on 24 November 2022, from 13.00 GMT+1 via ZOOM (click this link to join) and at the University of Copenhagen, Thorvaldsensvej 40, A2-70.04, 1871 Frederiksberg C (3-14). The seminar is open to all employees, colleagues, friends and family of Mahesha Manjunatha Poojary. 

Profile of Mahesha Manjunatha Poojary

Mahesha M. Poojary is a Food Chemist, with a strong background in Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry. He obtained his MSc degree in Chemistry from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, India (2011) and PhD degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Camerino, Italy (Eureka Fellowship, April 2017). He was appointed as Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Food Protein Chemistry in November 2018. Read more about the candidate here. 

Programme of the day

  • 13.00-13.25: Pre-meeting in the tenure track appraisal committee (closed session) 

  • 13.20: Candidate is led into the room  

  • 13.25-13.30:  Short welcome and introduction by the associate dean for research (seminar chair) 

  • 13.30-14.15:  45 min presentation by the candidate consisting of the following:  

    • Presentation of the research conducted during the tenure track period and its relation to the state of the art (about 30 minutes)

    • Presentation of future research visions (about 7-8 minutes)

    • Reflections about teaching experience and presentation of visions for future teaching development (about 7-8 minutes)

  • 14.15 – 14.20: Short break  

  • 14.20 – 14.40: Research questions by external opponent,

  • 14.40 – 15.00: Research questions by external opponent,

  • 15.00 – 15.15: Questions to teaching experience and visions by deputy head for education, Annemarie Olsen 

  • 15.15 – 15.30: Questions regarding future ideas and visions, collaboration, international networking etc. by head of department and associate dean for research  

  • 15.30 – 15.45: Evaluation by Tenure Track appraisal-board (closed session - NB – in Zoom breakout room - candidate and the audiences stays in main room)  

  • 15.45 – 16.00: Concluding evaluation and conversation between candidate and assessment board in front of the whole audience. Presentation of final recommendation that will be forwarded to the dean.
