In her project with an overarching aim of exploring the cultural dimensions of human-artificial intelligence interaction, currently titled "Reconfiguration of AI as a caregiving companion: A mixed method", Ece Elbeyi conceptualizes human conversational AI interaction drawing on the theoretical perspectives of science and technology studies, critical posthumanism and feminist new materialism. Utilizing empirical data gleaned from a combination of computational analysis and ethnographic methods complementarily, the Ph.D. project focuses explicitly on the ways in which care and companionship are performed and practiced throughout human-AI interaction.
Ece Elbeyi is affiliated with the Uncertain Archives Project generously funded by the Carlsberg Foundation.
Ece holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and a master's in Media and Communication Studies.
