My project focuses on characterization of human gut microbiota (GM) composition and diversity among the elders in relation to specific lifestyle interventions. The diversity of GM communities will be determined using NGS i.e. MiSeq Illumina-based 16S rRNA and ITS gene-targeted amplicon sequencing and other molecular microbiology techniques (such as qPCR, Fluidigm) and the data will be analyzed by applying state-of-the-art bioinformatics approaches and statistical analyses.

Primary fields of research

  • Human gut microbiota (GM)
  • Composition and diversity in GM communities among the elders in relation to specific lifestyle interventions.
