Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingBook chapterCommunication

A musical setting for tenor, violin and organ of Seamus Heaney's poem Miracle from the collection "Human Chain", published by Faber & Faber, London, 2010. The piece was written for and given its first performance at a concert in Trinitatis Church, Copenhagen on 12 March 2015 by Christian Damsgaard (tenor), Merete Steffensen (violin) and Søren Christian Vestergaard (performing on the Italian baroque organ from the 18th century in Trinitatis Church). The concert was part of a conference in connection with the international research project "Symbols that Bind and Break Communities: Saints' Cults as Stimuli and Expressions of Local, Regional, National and Universalist Identities" under the EUROCORES programme of the Europeran Science Foundation. The concert was recorded and edited by Torben Holdt and the ensuing CD produced from this recording will be inserted into a book publishing revised presentations from 2 conferences on Saints' Cults (ora pro nobis I and II; Copenhagen 2014 and 2015). The conference, the concert and the CD and the forthcoming book has been funded by the European Science Foundation. Seamus Heaney's poem "Miracle" responds to the biblical narrative in Mark 2:1-12.
