This research has revealed an interesting perspective on student’s learning processes that
could be elaborated into a more general contribution to the discussion about the future of
higher education. Innovation and entrepreneurship education seems to provide an opportunity
for students to reflect upon their practical learning processes that have impact on identity
building, competence development, and knowledge progression.
The purpose of the paper is to describe and discuss how these abovementioned perspectives
can provide the research field with a supplementary conceptual development of student Bildung
that addresses the role of teaching innovation and entrepreneurship as well as how to
engage students in their own learning processes at the universities.
