Particular attention is given to the family of methods based on projection on a low-dimensional subspace of latent variables, as they have the advantages of allowing the analysis of data where many correlated variables are measured on a limited number of samples (which is often the case in instrumental assessment of food quality) and an easy and straightforward visualization of the results.
