Mohammed Hussen Alemu

Assistant Professor

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food and Resource Economics at the University of Copenhagen. Prior to this, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at three different universities in Denmark and Iceland: the University of Copenhagen, Aarhus University, and Reykjavik University. I earned my PhD in Environmental and Resource Economics. My PhD research specifically focused on investigating consumer behavior in relation to novel, climate-freindly, and healthy foods.

  • Development economics with a special focus on climate-adapted and novel agricultural practices 
  • Environmental economics with a special focus on economic valuation of non-market goods and services arising from public goods
