    Current research

In my research, I work with different aspects of the visual, material and cultural interactions in the Hellenistic and Roman worlds – focusing especially on the relations between Egypt and Rome in the Roman imperial period. Central concepts that have formed my research into this area are: materiality, object biographies, culture contact, and identity formation. Another part of my research is centered on the excavation and publication of a Roman Villa at Lake Nemi in the Alban Hills.
