Primary fields of research

  • Research within veterinary medicine with emphasis on veterinary viral diseases (Foot and Mouth disease)
  • Research within molecular microbiology with emphasis on virulence regulation in S. aureus 
  • Research within food microbiology with emphasis on bacteriophages in food fermentation

Current research

  • MetaPhageLAB: Development and evolution of Lactococcus and Leuconostoc phages in Dairies using undefined mesophilic starter cultures, a metgenome approach
  • Controlling synergistic and antagonistic microbial activities behind the rich and specific flavours of hard cheese

 

Teaching

  • Co-supervisor at BSc and MSc student projects
  • Participate in preparing teaching materials for practical sessions for the course Food Microbiology
  • Participate in teaching of the course Food Microbiology
